Stylish Award: Seven Things About Me….and other stuff

Anthony F Randoย gave me this award – thank you Anthony!

The rules:

  • Thank and link back to the person giving the award.
  • Share seven things about yourself.
  • Award 10 to 15 blogs who you think deserve this award and contact them about the award.
Seven things about me (in no particular order):
  • I have a lazy side that would dearly love to spend a large part of every day in my pyjamas playing computer games.
  • In another life, I would be a professional dancer.
  • I love cheezels and twisties when they are slightly stale and a bit chewy – weird but true!
  • I secretly love the show “7th Heaven” (how embarrassing)
  • I was born in Tasmania as the youngest of five children.
  • I used to be painfully shy and now I’m not.
  • I hope one day to be walking past a bookshop (that’s on the proviso that they still exist in the future :P) and see books with my name on them on the shelves.

Now, blogs that are worth checking out (I have broken the rules and only listed seven here…keeping in line with only having to provide seven extraordinary facts about myself):

4amwriter.com
(fantastic short story on this site, well worth a read and a browse around)

Karen Tyrrell
(wonderful writer and support to newbies like me – thank you, Karen)

Writing in the Water
(love what this girl says and the honesty with which she says it)

Penny Jar
(lovely memoir on growing up the youngest child of nine)

Veronica’s Nap
(great on-line story and blog)

The Path to Protect
(this amazing young woman is active in the protection of marine life and raising awareness of their plight)

Awkward Family Photos
(this site is strangely addictive in a voyeuristic kinda way and always gives me a chuckle)

Enjoy people!

  1. Great post. Re 7th Heaven…I’m confused…what could possibly be embarrassing about loving a show where a perfectly wise and intelligent house wife is married to a pastor who solves other peoples problems while often being clueless about the dramas in his own household? it’s a fantastic show.

    • Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ I think one of the reasons I love 7th Heaven is that it reminds me so much of someone I know. Especially Mrs Camden. She is a dead ringer for my friend.

    • LOL. My husband pretends to suffer through it but I know he is quite happy to watch one of the characters in particular! It’s the sort of show that makes you believe, even if just for that hour, that all is well with the world and no problem is too big to solve. Love it ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Great fun post. My confession about 7th Heaven would be that for years my 4 children watched that show like it was their job, while I myself have never seen a single episode. Could it be that I ran for the keyboard the moment it came on TV, knowing I had an entire hour of guaranteed non-interruption?! After reading the comments above I think I really must check it out myself some time. (Though I’m not so tempted to try the stale snacks!)

Hearty congratulations on your Stylish Blogger Award ๐Ÿ™‚

I strongly recommend you set aside an afternoon and catch up on 7th Heaven…are you sure I can’t convince you about the stale snacks? They will add a whole new dimension to your tv viewing!

  3. Congrats on your blog award.

Another 7th Heaven fan coming out. LOL I always thought that if they did a bio pic on Natalie Woods Mackenzie Rosman would be able to play her as a young child. Don’t you think she looks like her?

    • Yes, I think you might be right, Selena! I hadn’t really seen it before but now you say it, yes! There’s an idea for you to pitch to someone important, especially as you have the cast list already half done ๐Ÿ™‚ And thanks for the congratulations!

  4. Wow. Thank you for the mention here. I’m glad I’m getting caught up on my blog reading.

I watched 7the Heaven once a long time ago. Embrace what you love. I get looks because I’ve got Doctor Who action figures, but I’m not going to stop because of other people.

I also used to be painfully shy. Practice and effort and now I’m only sometimes shy.

Keep writing. You’ll be in the bookstore (or future equivalent) one day.

    • My pleasure! I love your blog ๐Ÿ™‚
I am sure various people in my life wish to goodness that I was still shy! I made a decision at about 14 when we moved interstate to change who I was and I have never looked back.
And thanks for the vote of confidence. Much appreciated. ๐Ÿ™‚
